The green heart of Colombia is an immense mega-diverse region of forests, colossal skies and thundering streams. The north is home to a landscape wild of unspoiled plains, herds of wildlife and biodiverse estuaries, rich in field culture. The unexplored jungles of the south hide a universe of natural wonders, petroglyphs, ancestral indigenous knowledge and living cultures, which we must continue to preserve.
This charming region is the green heart of Colombia, a place of infinite forests and colossal skies, formed by two ecosystems of extraordinary importance-- the Amazon and the Orinoquía-- home to imposing rivers and thundering waterfalls. The northern area is covered by plains, a wild landscape of haciendas (herds), untouched plains and biodiverse estuaries. This region is rich in country and frontier culture, and is known for its epic sunsets and immense variety of flora and fauna. The llanera culture speaks of fields, cattle, horses, coleo and joropo. Further south, the plains give way to the virgin forests of the Amazon basin, which are home to the largest unexploited forest extensions on the continent. This universe of natural wonders is carefully veiled and protected by its indigenous inhabitants, custodians of ancient myths and knowledge.
The immense green region of the Colombian Amazon-Orinoquía is home to fascinating world-class attractions such as the PNN Serranía del Chiribiquete, a mega protected natural reserve, a mixed heritage of humanity, essential for the preservation of the planet's biodiversity and natural ecosystems and that treasures the largest quantity of cave paintings (petroglyphs) in the American continent. But the spectacular Colombian Amazon-Orinoquía also has the most beautiful river in the world, Caño Cristales, known as the river of seven colors, or with one of the most beautiful places on the planet, the Jirijirimo streams. This great region of forests and sacred and biodiverse plains, home to the jaguar and the tonina, has preserved natural wonders, myths and living cultures until today so that they are known, but also cared for, by its visitors.
